Borrowing Rules

  1. Library members are entitled to borrow books, other reading materials from the library for their own use. Library materials cannot be borrowed on behalf of others.
  2. Students are entitled to borrow 1 (one) book for 7 (seven) days, 2 (two) CD for 3 (three) days at a time.
  3. Faculty members are entitled to borrow 3 (three) books and 3 (three) CD for 7 (seven) days at a time.
  4. Part-time faculty members are entitled to borrow 3 (three) books and 2 (two) CD for seven days at a time.
  5. Administrative staff are entitled to borrow 1 (one) book for 7 (seven) days .
  6. Faculty members, students and administrative staff can also renew the retaining period of the borrowed books for another 3 (three) days.
  7. Students will require to return their books issued from the library before each term final examination and all faculty member will require to return their books issued from the library after submission of result of each term final examination. No books will be issued before beginning of new semester for the students.
  8. Library members must show their ID card to borrow books, audio visual materials and other library resources.
  9. Users may borrow books / CD marked ' Confined 'for a few hours through depositing ID card for photocopying except reference books.
  10. Borrowed books and materials must be returned on or before the due date at the Circulation Desk during working hours.
  11. A fine of Tk. 50/- (fifty) for each book/ CD will be charged per day after expiry of the due date. No book(s) will be issued to any person until the amount of fine is paid.
  12. The borrower is solely responsible for the safety, protection and proper maintenance of the borrowed materials.
  13. The borrower must replace the lost/ damaged book/ CD by a new and fresh copy of the same book.
  14. Library materials will be checked out by the assigned library staff at the Circulation Desk during library working hours.
  15. All borrowers must sign the borrowing card(s) for each item borrowed.
  16. Library staff will have the authority to inspect books in possession of the borrower as and when necessary.
  17. Two-months suspension of borrowing facilities will be imposed on the student for frequent late returns or frequent loss of books.
  18. Borrowed materials may be recalled any time.
  19. Students, faculty members and administrative staff must obtain clearance from the library before leaving the university.
