Library Rules

General Rules for Use of Library :

  1. The Library is open to all who have a valid Central Women's University Identity card (ID card) or Library membership card which must be shown at the entrance or inside the library, if necessary. Anyone who does not possess any of these documents will not be allowed to avail library facilities.
  2. Library Hours : Sunday - Thursday ( 9:00am – 5:00pm). Library services will start from 9:15am and close at 4:45pm.
  3. Strict silence should be maintained inside the library.
  4. Personal books, journals and any other reading material will not be allowed inside the library.
  5. Pen, pencil, rubber, geometry box, calculator, note books and loose pages will be allowed inside the library.
  6. Baggage counter is for keeping personal possessions. Users must not keep money or other valuables there, as the library authority does not take the responsibility for loss or damage of such belongings.
  7. One computer is for one user only. One user may use a computer up to a maximum period of 30 minutes at a time.
  8. Persons using the library should abstain from group discussions.Any kind of noise inside the library is strictly prohibited.
  9. The consumption of food and drink and the use of personal audio/video equipment are completely prohibited inside the library.
  10. Mobile phones should be switched off or set to silent mode before entering the library.
  11. The library authority will not take any responsibility for damage or theft of personal belongings left unattended inside the library.
  12. Library user’s must behave with the library staff and fellow users with due respect and courtesy.
  13. Before leaving the library users must ensure that all books and other library material have been properly issued . Unauthorized possession of library books/ material will be seriously death with.
  14. Users must not disfigure or mutilate any book or reading material in the library. Anyone will have to compensate by replacing the book.
  15. Users violating any one of the above rules and regulations will be liable to punitive action and must compensate as per library rules.
